NFF agrees improved terms with Eric Chelle

After missing the World Cup, the federation is paying to keep the coach through the qualifying grind.

The Nigeria Football Federation has agreed improved contract terms with Super Eagles head coach Eric Chelle, NSC chairman Shehu Dikko confirmed after a meeting in Abuja.

The details were not published. They rarely are. What matters is the signal: the federation would rather pay to keep Chelle than reopen a search in the middle of AFCON qualifying. Supporters who wanted a more famous name will not be soothed. Coaches who have actually worked in this system will understand the calculation.

Chelle’s first public test under the new terms is Uyo. Win, and the contract looks like stability. Draw, and the radio phone-ins will remember every clause.
