Burna Boy leads Nigerian artists on YouTube Music
644 million in monthly audience. The number is a snapshot of how completely Afrobeats now sits inside the global feed.

Damini Ogulu, Burna Boy, has recorded 644 million in monthly audience on YouTube Music, the highest of any Nigerian artist on the platform, according to the latest ranking circulating in Lagos this week.
The figure is a reminder of something the industry already knows and still underprices: Afrobeats is no longer an export experiment. It is part of the world’s default mix. Ayra Starr this year became the first Nigerian woman to pass a billion views on YouTube, joining Burna and Wizkid in a club that used to be a rumour.
What the numbers do not show is who keeps the money. Labels, DSPs, and the live circuit are still arguing over that. The artists who learned to own their publishing are quieter about it, which is usually a sign they won.
For the rest of the scene, the message is less romantic. The global feed is crowded. A hit is not a career. Burna’s monthly audience is a mountain. Most acts are still looking for a hill.
